Times Up NextGen comes to Lincoln Park High School! Hattie Wong, a senior, founded the 2nd official high school club in the country. When Hattie, a strong supporter of women's rights and feminist movements, met Sydney Topf, the founder of the first high school club, the writing was on the wall. "I grew up going to feminist marches and reading books about powerful women. And, similar to Sydney, I felt strongly about the issues of sexual harassment, especially after several students at Lincoln Park came out with harassment claims. I knew it was time to get our school involved." Hattie felt that the club's values exemplified her own; regardless of gender, race, or identity, every person should be treated with equity and opportunities for economic success. "I want our club to offer open, inclusive, student-led discussions that feature special guest speakers. The club will be held every Wednesday at 2:20 in room 013 (in the basement). Club meetings are open to all students and will not be mandatory.
