"Welcome back" would be the ideal way to welcome students into the new school year. However, this school year differs from the previous. Many Lincoln Park students have not returned to the building for in-person learning in over a year and a half. This school year will be a huge change for many students as their ideal structure from athome learning will change. There is no doubt that many students missed going back to school as remote learning distanced friendships, canceled or delayed sports seasons, and it was much more difficult for clubs to run during the school year.

"Dear Evan Hansen, " a musical drama released on September 24, 2021, is about a high-school student named Evan who suffers from social anxiety, depression, and loneliness. He aches to belong so badly that he creates a pathological lie surrounding his relationship with a classmate who took his own life and helps his family grieve.

No kid should ever have to feel scared to go to school. All schools should be a safe space for students. I had never before feared going to school, but as the world changed, my perspective has changed too. Bullying has always been an issue in school for as long as I can remember. When bullied badly, someone could, in turn, do something horrible and life-threatening like Timothy George Simpkins, a high school student in Arlington, Texas.
