Since the beginning of 2021, a resurgence of mass shootings in the U.S. has left many people dead, injured, and traumatized. Most of the public is familiar with the recent shooting in a Boulder, Colorado supermarket, leaving ten individuals dead and the one among multiple massage parlors in Atlanta, Georgia, leaving eight people dead. These mass shootings reflect a fraction of the deaths caused by gun violence. Even after Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School's horror in 2018 when a gunman opened fire with a semiautomatic, killing 17 students, attention to gun control has been fleeting, with no meaningful legislation passed. These tragedies happen because we have insufficient gun control laws, period. This situation needs to change now...
