The internet, in particular, offers immense possibilities for encounter and solidarity. This is something truly good, a gift from God. - Pope Francis
St. Cajetan, Patron Saint of Job Seekers
St. Cajetan was an Italian Catholic priest who had a great heart for the poor. His compassion for the unfortunate became so great that he decided to set up a bank to offer them trainings and alternative livelihood, and also to offer an alternative to usurers (loan sharks). That bank is now called Bank of Naples. He was canonized by Pope as Patron Saint of Job Seekers, or those looking for work because of his general concern with those who had difficulties finding a job. So you'll know who you should direct your job search prayers to when the going get's tough.
A collection of work (evidence) in an electronic format that showcases your learning, experiences and qualifications over time. When you think about your ePortfolio and the types of evidence that it contains, it is important to think carefully about its purpose and intended audience. Often an ePortfolio is designed with a framework in mind. In planning your portfolio consider the ISTE Standards, the Ontario Catholic Leadership Framework or your Catholic Board's Leadership Development or Strategic Development Plan.
NOTE: Candidates can use any platform to create the ePortfolio. The Connected Leadership, Connect2Innovate uses Google Sites for reference.
An ePortfolio may contain all or some of the following:
Files of various formats (text, pictures, video, etc.)
Evidence related to achievements, courses taken, programs of study, certifications, awards received, etc.
Evidence of creativity and performance (demonstrations of a proven track record of successful Catholic School Leadership)
Evidence of extracurricular or co-curricular activities, including examples of leadership
Evaluations, recommendations, promotions, personality inventories, learning plans, acknowledgements, etc.
The effort and pedagogy in assembling an ePortfolio as a PQP assignment is a consolidation of your learning through PQP Part 1 and Part 2.
Focusing the ePortfolio around the 5 domains of the Ontario Catholic Leadership Framework does ensure that you are addressing those key areas of leadership that you will need to be able to respond to during an interview.
Linking your ePortfolio to your Linkedin profile is a very strategic approach to showcasing your leadership development, as is aligning your ePortfolio with your board's strategic directions and goals.
Maintaining and updating your ePortfolio indicates that you are ready for any opportunities that may present themselves throughout your career. A well put together ePortfolio is a solid investment as an assignment in your PQP but also in your long term journey as an educator, life-long learner and leader.
This assignment can be considered an added bonus if your board requires an ePortfolio as part of any promotion process. This is excellent professional documentation and preparation for any leadership interview.
Prior to the completion of PQP Part 2 and upon completion of the ePortfolio, candidates are to schedule a 10-minute virtual presentation with the PQP Part 2 Instructor. The candidate will present, through the lens of a leader in a Catholic school, their critical learnings from the learning engagements (Modules 1 through 5) and any other relevant course content from PQP Part 1 and Part 2, to the instructor.
The instructor will assess and provide oral feedback on the presentation immediately after the presentation as well as written feedback on the content of the ePortfolio within a week.
The presentation of the ePortfolio may be designed as a Mock Interview.
