The internet, in particular, offers immense possibilities for encounter and solidarity. This is something truly good, a gift from God. - Pope Francis
"CONNECTED" PATRON SAINTS
Lose something? Pray to Saint Anthony of Padua, the Patron Saint of Lost things. Your pet is not well? Pray to Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals. Did you know that there are patron saints for most anything, even the internet? “Patron saints” in Catholicism are venerable women and men from throughout history who are heavenly advocates for places, professions and people. It is good to know that in the oddest of times there are saints who we can turn to as an aid on our way. In this time when we are leaning heavily on the internet, it is good to know who to turn to for continued support.
In his Exhortation on Youth, Christus Vivit, Pope Francis speaks openly to young people of the gift and the dangers of life online. (Chapter Three: You are the "now" of God. Section 89, 90).
