Keeping records is a common and essential part of the educational process. According to Cyril Potter College of Education and the Ministry of Education (2003), it provides information on making logical, impartial judgements on promotions, staff and student conduct, and the teaching and learning process.
Records can be divided into two main categories:
Whole School Records
Classroom Records
Whole School Records
Whole school records are also known as administrative records. These records provide data on instructors and pupils as well as serving as proof of accountability.
Classroom Records
Accountability is established through classroom records. Classroom records are employed for gathering information about pupils, monitoring their progress, updating parents on their development, and formulating objectives.
