Usage Agreement

Data Usage Agreement

CACTC has terms and conditions that must be agreed upon before users can gain access to the reports and data housed within them. Please see the guidelines for using the data below.

Reports

Users should not misrepresent the data or imply that additional interpretations of the data were approved by CACTC unless explicitly stated. The data has been analyzed and interpreted by CACTC’s Data and Epidemiology Team in the reports, therefore additional interpretations are not an appropriate use of data. We recognize that there are limited claims that can be made from these data.

If you make any claims based on this data beyond what is stated in CACTC reports, please be clear that those claims come from your agency rather than CACTC. If you or your agency need help understanding what kinds of claims can be made based on a given data set, we are happy to help. Please reach out to us for consultation before drawing conclusions from CACTC's data that you aren't sure the data support. By pressing agree users will gain access to the data and epidemiology reports within 24-48 hours.

Grants

If data from one of CACTC’s reports or dashboards is used when applying for a grant, please notify CACTC’s Director Matt Whitman (mwhitman@cortlandareactc.org).

Citing the Data

When using data in one of CACTC’s reports, please cite using AMA format (see below).

AMA Format: Author(s). Report title (italicized). URL. Published Date of publication (mm/dd/yyyy). Accessed Date of access Publication title (mm/dd/yyyy).

Sharing the Data

We encourage users to have a conversation with CACTC before sharing reports with other agencies so we can make sure they are aware of our recommendations and the best practices for using our data.

Access to the Portal

By pressing agree users will gain access to the data and epidemiology reports within 24-48 hours. If we learn that your agency has not followed the required guidelines above, we will reach out to our contact person there and discuss the incident to try to find a way to meet your needs. If you or anyone at your agency is unable to meet the required guidelines above, CACTC may remove your agency's access to the Data and Epidemiology Portal.

Please submit any general questions, concerns, or translation requests to CACTC’s Data & Epidemiology Team (data@cortlandareactc.org).
