About us
Cornell Seismic Design is an engineering project team that designs and constructs a 5-foot tall balsa wood high-rise model to survive shake table earthquakes. We are composed of CivEs, MSEs, MechEs, CS, ECEs, and more. Every year, we compete against around 45 teams from across the world. We use software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, and MATLAB throughout our design, construction, and analysis process. We also create professional proposals, presentations, and posters to go along with our structural design. We have leads who manage different aspects of the team, but we have NO SUBTEAMS. As a result, you can experience a variety of tasks and develop skills in multiple disciplines.
