About Me

My passion for dietetics was initially influenced by my experience with the Emily Program during my junior year of high school. My dietitian's extension of understanding, support, and education through my confusion and fear inspired my fascination of the effect nutrition can have on one's physical and mental health. My experiences practicing and learning during college and the Dietetic Internship have only confirmed my passion for dietetics. Concordia's liberal arts education and St. Cloud Hospital's value on patient-centered care have prepared me to be immersed in a professional setting where I will continue to apply my pallet of unique skills from various diverse learning experiences and an educated and understanding mindset. I look forward to using the enthusiasm I have developed for the dietetics profession and continue to grow in my knowledge and beliefs during my future profession.

Passion-Driven Curiosity & Interest

Nutrition and service are two of my greatest passions. As I have discovered my passion for nutrition throughout the years, I have realized how much of an intentional and service based career it is. Nutrition effects the lives and bodies of everyone—the healthy and the sick, the busy and the idle, the wealthy and the impoverished; the list goes on.

My initial interest with the study of nutrition was a result of my experiences with various physical and emotional nutrition-related health concerns among my family and peers as well as myself. Nutrition is unique as it plays such a variety of roles in the lives of different cultures and people. As a dietitian, I use my background to approach people with empathy, patience, and respect, with an understanding that each individual experiences situations differently, both physically and emotionally.

My curiosity and astonishment with nutrition has exponentially increased as I have learned about the complexity of nutrition during college and my dietetic internship. I have always been know as the "question-asker" due to my inquisitive drive for understanding the minute details as well as the larger picture. I am an individual who is eager to learn new skills and grow in my career as a Registered Dietitian.

I am enthusiastic about "getting my feet wet" in new experiences. These pictures illustrate my passion to experience life with an open mind.
