Clinical Presentation is one of the most important projects that each intern has to finish to graduate from the internship. Interns will choose a chronic disease and a real patient who has that disease. Then, we will present a 30-minute Medical Nutrition Therapy on that disease with an in-depth understanding. Interns need to dig deeper into pathophysiology from which we provide applicable Medical Nutrition Therapy to support the patient's health conditions. I chose COPD and Vitamin D3. Theme Meal Project | St. Cloud Hospital DI Program
Hospital Food Service is my last rotation at St. Cloud Hospital. One of this rotation's assignments is for interns need to design and analyze the food cost of a theme meal menu with 4-5 foods including entrees, sides, and desserts. From the menu, we pick 1 food and serve it inside the hospital's dining area. I paired with another intern, Rachel Rogers, and we decided to do Mexican Eats Theme Meal and chose Mexican Chick Tortillas Soup. Click on the link to see our report on the Theme Meal.
Senior Seminar is a final presentation of the Clinical Experience Course in which I pick a disease and display Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for that disease. This is a 25-minute presentation with the attendance of all professors of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department. The experience while working on this presentation is helpful that getting me ready for the Dietetic Internship. Click on the link below to see my presentation.
With my Current Issues in Nutrition course, the final project was to bring up a controversial topic and do research on it. In the end, we presented at the Atrium to not only inform students and people about the topic but also reveal the scientific point of view that explains or reinforces the accuracy of a piece of information.
