May Happenings

Field Day has been moved to Tuesday, May 5th.

The 2nd Grade Teachers cannot believe it is the last month of school! It has been such a wonderful year with your amazing kids!

A Peek at Our Monthly Curriculum

Reading

In reading, students are learning about different people who helped with aviation and the obstacles they faced and overcame.

Writing/Phonics

We are working on writing a paragraph with a topic sentence. In phonics, we are reviewing tricky vowels.

Math

In math, we are focusing on multiplication and division. Students are LOVING representing multiplication and division through arrays, repeated addition, and skip counting.

Science

In science, we are learning about animal characteristics and habitats. Students will enjoy reading "What if You Had Animal Ears" and other books in that series.

Social Studies

In social studies, we are learning about economics. Students will differentiate between wants and needs, goods and services, and producers and consumers.
