May is always filled with so much energy—end-of-year celebrations, saying good bye to friends, teachers, and of course, the countdown to summer.
Students continue to work on prereading skills. They are learning the concept that letters work together to make words, and words work together to make sentences.
In Writing - writes his or her name, friends name, and labels pictures. In Phoenimic Awareness distinguishes differences between similar-sounding sounds. Manipulates compound words with pictorial or gestural support. Begins to blend and segment syllables in multisyllabic words. Rhyming words. Identifies a familiar one-syllable word that is segmented by onset and rime. Blends and segments one-syllable words by phonemes with visual or gestural support.
In Math students will be joining to add to groups of objects and tell you how many they have altogether. The students seperate will also take objects away from a group and tell you how many are left.
In Science, the students will be learning about the of the importance of caring for our environment and our planet.
In Social Studies, students will be learning about people in the past and present.
