Below are several activities that you may consider throughout a 5-day week. I hope that you would explore all the activities represented below, although that will be your choice.
World Music Tapestry – The Fourth Thread – Percussion Instruments (membranophones).
Percussion - A musical instrument where sound is made by striking a tone-producing surface. This week we will focus on the second part of the percussion family – membranophones – whose sound is made by striking membranes or strings (e.g. drums). See below.
Explore percussion instruments (membranophones) in any of the following continents: Africa, Asia, Australia / Oceania, Europe, North and South America. You may include instruments that you have at home – including folk instruments.
