Music Activities for 3rd – 6th Grades

Hello everyone! – I hope all is well with you. Below are several musical activities that you may consider throughout the week. The activities may be done in any order you like.
2.) Music Listening – Listen to the below examples played by The Royal Wind Music, a recorder ensemble from the Netherlands in Europe. Consider tempo, phrasing and instrument size - soprano, alto, tenor, bass - as you listen.
3.) Build a Simple Musical Instrument – Watch the following video demonstration and consider making a simple pan flute or ‘reed’ instrument (aerophones). As you are watching, think about how the higher and lower sounds are produced. *Ask your parents for permission and / or help.
4.) Share a Song – teach your family a call and response song --- you know it! --- imitate the student movements, add some steady beat body percussion -- finger tapping, clapping or patting OR use a drum.
This is a different video than we have used in class, but the melody remains the same.
