The Communication Institute advances independent research and applications to strengthen leadership in organisations and society. Rodney G. Miller
Committed to communication strengthening leadership in organizations and society. Ongoing interest in language and emotive processes for new understandings of communication. Critically acclaimed writing includes a book on persuasive language styles named reviewer's choice at Midwest Book Review. An Editorial Board Member of Media and Language at Sofia University, he is published by the State University of New York Press and The Royal Society of Queensland, with early writing in The Australian newspaper. For more than three decades, helped to secure substantial resources for the strategic growth of large, complex, public and private universities, colleges and research institutions internationally. Built prolific teams as C-level executive, senior manager or consultant. Spearheaded campaigns to empower innovation in high-value Arts, Education, Health, Science and Technology institutions. Established industry funding and served for three years as site director of the National Science Foundation Center for Visual and Decision Informatics at Drexel University. Served as adjunct faculty in fundraising at Indiana University-Purdue University for seven years.
Previously taught communication at Queensland University of Technology, founding and for over a decade editing Australian Journal of Communication. Education at The University of Queensland in Australia, with BA (Hons) in English Language & Literature (Communication & Mediaeval Languages) and MA in English (Rhetorical Stylistics) by research. Recent books include Communication Essays, Bestest Words and Australians Speak Out: Persuasive Language Styles.

Communication Essays
Collects seven essays written through three decades to address more substantial challenges that endure for developing systematic, personal communicaiton - to teach oral communication, strengthen democratic leadership, grow organizational trust, build community relations and sustain fundraising results. Australians Speak Out: Persuasive Language Styles
Assesses the rhetorical stylistic choices of public figures in a representative democracy. Includes full texts of noteworthy speeches and writing. Identifies eighteen ways that public figures choose language to establish common ground with an audience.
