UnitedPower Program
Participants in the UnitedPower program will have access to different equipment than what is typically found in a school weight room. UnitedPower youth will be utilizing state-of-the-art equipment that is less than two years old. This equipment set includes a variety of items that aim to improve the effectiveness of endurance and strength training programs. The classes will utilize a range of resistance equipment made by PowerSystems, such as barbells, plates, dumbbells, resistance tubing, loop bands, and step benches.
Two cohorts will be provided:
Cohort 1- Tuesday Programming: This cohort will focus on the introduction to weightlifting.
•Introduction to Basics: In this stage, beginners focus on learning the fundamental movements of weightlifting, such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and overhead press.
•Technique Emphasis: Priority is given to mastering proper lifting techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness.
•Foundation Building: Beginners typically start with lighter weights and gradually progress as they build a solid foundation of strength and coordination.
Cohort 2- Thursday Programming: This cohort will focus on more advanced techniques and perfecting lifts.
•Increasing Intensity: As individuals progress, they gradually increase the intensity of their workouts by lifting heavier weights.
•Program Variation: Introduction of more complex training programs, including periodization, to promote continued strength gains and muscle development.
•Skill Refinement: Ongoing refinement of lifting technique and incorporation of more advanced exercises.
Both classes will consist of a total body strength and endurance workout, thoughtfully designed to ensure major muscle groups are involved.
This project will be offered June 1 - December 31, 2025
