Policies, Guidelines and Procedure for the Lending of Library Materials
The following policies, guidelines and procedure for the lending of library materials is been approved and take effect once it was published. The Central Mindanao University library and staff has the right to add, delete or modify these policies, guidelines and procedure.
Confidentiality of Records
No names, address or other information concerning the borrower will be revealed to other person except under conditions stated by the University Library Records Policy.
Library Borrowers
Library borrowers categorized as follows:
Individuals currently affiliated with the Central Mindanao University:
On-campus students/ Graduate students/ Visiting scholars
Distance students/ Graduate students
Faculty
Academic Staff
Academic- Administrative staff
Professional staff
Retired staff
Individuals not currently affiliated with the Central Mindanao University:
special borrowers
Identifications & Check-out Materials
All materials are check at Circulation Desk
All persons affiliated with Central Mindanao University must present their University ID
Special borrowers must present current and valid identification from their institution to obtain a library borrowers card to check out library materials
special borrowers must also complete the application of University borrowers card.
Alumni should present their Identification Alumni ID and attached to the materials.
Special borrowers cannot check-out periodicals.
Each borrower is responsible for the materials they check out.
All Identifications are not transferable.
Lost /Damaged borrowed Items
A reader who lost books must notify the circulation in charge immediately.
We recommend to look for the book again before taking the following actions- Look for the book.
If the book is available for purchase, you must buy the identical copy and bring it to the circulation desk in exchange to the lost book.
If the book is out of print, try to find a copy in good condition in second hand stores and bring it to the circulation desk for further treatment.
If your efforts to locate the book in the book store not succeed, call the circulation department of the library to find out the amount you will have to pay. After making a payment notify the library in order to complete the process.
if the book was damage during the period in which it was in the reader's possession. A defective book can not be returned and the user will need to do proceed as in the case of lost book as in numbers 2-4 above.
Loan Periods
The loan period of books to be used for faculty classes is one month and renewable three (3) times if there are no other requests for the book.
Students can borrow three (3) books at a time; 1 Fiction book and 2 non-fiction books for a period of three (3) days which are renewable for the next three (3) days if there are no other requests for the book.
Reading Room Loaning time for overnight use is one (1) hour before closing time. And must be returned at 8:00 a.m. the following day. Weekend loaning must be returned on Monday at 8:00 a.m. Reminders a student who failed to returned the book on time will be fined Php 5.00 per hour per book.
Document Delivery Service
Document delivery service (DDS) “refers to the physical or electronic delivery of a document from a library collection can be physically or electronically sent to a library user's home or place of work upon request
