UNIVERSITY LIBRARY'S MISSION
The mission of the library is to provide a collection of information resources in order to support the circular, informational and research needs of the college & community. It is a dynamic center for learning, and support the university in carrying out its functions, instruction, research, extension & production.
GOAL
To acquire, organize, develop, maintain and make accessible sources of information for their effective and efficient use in an environment that is conductive to the learner’s quest for academic excellence.
OBJECTIVES
to support the instructional and research programs of the University by providing adequate and up-to-date library resources for use in the intellectual development, research, community work of the students and faculty.
To provide the state-of the art physical facilities and equipment.
To educate the students and faculty on the effective and efficient use of the library and its materials; and,
To network with other libraries and information agencies in the country for the enrichment of the university’s library resources
LIBRARY SERVICES THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW?
DISCUSSION ROOM
Discussion rooms are provided in the library for students to book for group work and discussion. These rooms can be booked for a maximum of 3 hours per day, per student. These rooms are not sound-proof. Please moderate noise level if the discussion room is on a silent zone floor. Used for group study, group discussion and tutorials.
AUDIO VISUAL ROOM
An interactive learning sessions are held here. Provides a wide range of audio visual resources, equipment and services to enhance the quality of teaching and learning activities for students. aim to provide a variety of learning approaches and stimuli through the use of various AV materials and equipment
LOAN OUT BOOKS
If the borrower is eligible to loan out library materials. Present your library Card, library materials (books/journals) for inspection, checking and proper charging of loaned out materials. A student who does not have a Library Card is not allowed to loan out books.
CIRCULATION
This section houses and circulates the major library collection covering the different areas of discipline. This section adopts the “open shelf” system, where users can go directly to the shelf and choose the books they would like to browse or use. All books in this section may be borrowed for overnight use.
FILIPINIANA
Contains Filipiniana books which are publications on or about the Philippines, written by Filipino or foreign authors published in the Philippines or abroad. And unpublished manuscripts (undergraduate thesis, master/dissertation thesis).
SERIAL/PERIODICAL
This section is the current “Information Powerhouse” through which information found in journals, magazines, newspapers, government publications, and other serial literature are found
E-Lib/ NGCP Computer Laboratory
Students can link globally through the Internet which offers rich and rapidly expanding storehouses of information for research works. The E-Library can be used by students for free for one (1) hour. A user can add another hour if there is no other user waiting.
WIFI/ Laptop Area
Students are welcome to bring their laptop and other mobile devices into the library for research and study. No library card or password required.
Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC)
the electronic version of paper card catalog which is very useful in searching for the books call number, author, publication and other important data that is available in the library. Use this to check if the library resources you need is available
