Circulation Section
Books in this section can be charged out to students, faculty, and staff of the university upon the presentation of their Library Card. A student who does not have a Library Card is not allowed to loan out books.
Students can borrow three (3) books at a time; 1 Fiction book and 2 non-fiction books for a period of three (3) days which are renewable for the next three (3) days if there are no other requests for the book.
Any permanent faculty and staff member who holds the Library card has the privilege to borrow circulation books. COS and JO can borrow books as long as provided they have a guarantor with permanent status.
The loan period of books to be used for faculty classes is one month and renewable three (3) times if there are no other requests for the book.
A faculty member can borrow a maximum of six (6) titles.
Any library user who fails to return the library materials on time will be charged P10.00 per day per book.
All library materials should be returned promptly.
Reference Section
Books in this section are used for subjects offered by the different colleges and departments.
Books can be borrowed for photocopying for one (1) hour only. Failure to return on specified time carries a penalty of P5.00 per hour.
Books can be borrowed for overnight and over weekend use.
College Reading Room
- All library users must present their Library Card and CMU validated ID to the reading room librarian/ in-charge upon using and borrowing the library materials.
- Books can be borrowed for overnight and over weekend use.
- A student can borrow one (1) book at a time.
- Loaning time for overnight use is one (1) hour before closing time. And must be returned at 8:00 a.m. the following day. Weekend loaning must be returned on Monday at 8:00 a.m.
- A student who failed to return the book on time will be fined P5.00 per hour per book.
- Only bona fide students in every college reading room can borrow books overnight and students from other colleges can use for inside reading and photocopy only.
- A faculty can borrow six (6) books in one month. Renewable three (3) times.
- A faculty who failed to return the book on time will be fined of P5.00 per hour per book.
Instructional Media Center
- Audio-visual materials are for library and classroom instruction use only.
- Students can avail of the audio-visual materials upon presenting a recommendation or note from their respective faculty to the IMC Librarian, subject to the approval of the Director of Library Services and IMC.
- TV and CD players are for library use only and operated by a Library Staff.
- One day prior to use, a letter of request should be submitted to the office of the Director of Library Services & IMC for approval and for reservation.
- The Library utilizes the AVR for viewing audio-visual materials and other related activities of the library.
- The form shall be signed by the faculty, head of department, AVR In-Charge and the Director of Library Services for approval.
Periodical Section/ Serials Section
- These materials are available for inside reading only but can be borrowed for photocopying for 45 minutes to 1 hour only. Failure to return the materials on the specified time will have a fine of P10.00 per hour.
- Electronic journals can be accessed to the Electronic Library and through the library website.
- Index Periodical articles can be accessed through Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).
Reserve Section
- Books in this section are used for subjects offered by the different colleges and departments.

- Books can be borrowed for overnight and over weekend use.
Filipiniana Section
- It houses books which are written by Filipino authors and publications about the Philippines regardless of author, imprint or format. Theses and Dissertations are housed in this section.
- Books, except rare Filipiniana collections can be borrowed overnight and for photocopy.
- Photocopying of theses and dissertations is strictly prohibited as stipulated in the Copyright Law.
