Esti-Mysteries

Students are presented with a visual and a 100s chart.  They are asked to make an estimation and justify their reasoning.  A series of clues follow, and the answer Is slowly revealed.  Students adjust their estimates as they go and share estimation strategies.  

Students strengthen a number of skills while completing Esti-Mysteries Including critical thinking, estimation skills, mathematical reasoning, and mathematical communication skills.  Esti-Mysteries are differentiated based on mathematical concepts which means many grade levels can enjoy and benefit from them!
