We complete many performance tasks from Next Lesson resources in our pull-out classroom.  Students in grade two recently completed their first.

"Performance Tasks are high-interest activities where students apply and integrate math & ELA skills using topics they care about. Students develop and apply critical thinking skills in authentic, real world scenarios."

Each lesson is comprised of a math skill, a math extension, a challenge, and a finale.  Students identified numbers as even or odd and had to use double digit addition to determine what two enclosures available would be best for 50 new lions arriving at the zoo.  After researching lions, the students made signs for the new lion enclosure.
