The goal of TRiO Talent Search is to support students who have the potential to succeed in higher education but may be the first in their immediate family to attend college (“first generation”), and to help these students progress through the academic pipeline to postsecondary degree attainment. Participants prepare for post-secondary education through workshops and events that focus on career exploration, college preparation, and social and cultural development. Activities include college advisement, assistance with college exploration, financial aid, scholarship applications, tutoring, campus tours, financial literacy programs, SAT/ACT preparation, career exploration, social capital networking and exposure, and cultural enrichment.

About Me
Hi scholars! I'm Mrs.Taylor, previously known as Ms. Phifer, a Charlotte native, and service is my purpose. Drake featured my squad on his recent album, I am a proud cheerleader alum and representative of the first graduating class of Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology. I attended North Carolina Central University for undergrad where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology. I went on to attend UNC at Charlotte for professional school earning a post-bac in Community Health Promotions. I also hold a Masters from Georgia Southern University.
As a first generation college student, I make it my duty to share my experience and teach others how to navigate the post-secondary education system. You will encounter numerous challenges in your pursuit to success; however, none are insurmountable. I am here to provide access and exposure to life's limitless options obtainable via continued education.
