West Charlotte Scholarships & Financial Aid
West Charlotte Scholarships & Financial Aid
Scholarship Frequently Asked Questions
Do I get all the money at once?
This also depends! Some scholarships break up the distribution of funds by semesters or school years. (i.e. $2,000 scholarships given out in $500 increments over 4 semesters). These scholarships are called recurring scholarships.
Do I get the scholarship money or does it go the school/college?
It depends! Scholarships can be distributed in two ways: directly to the student or to the college/university's financial aid office. Scholarships which give funds to colleges/universities may ask students to submit proof of acceptance before the scholarship money is sent. The scholarship committee will let the student know how the money will be sent.
Is this scholarship only for my freshmen year?
Most scholarships are one-time scholarships meaning a student can only apply to this scholarship once and receive one award. However, renewable scholarships are scholarships that allow their award winners to re-apply or renew their application for the same scholarship during future application cycles.
