The SAT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admission decisions. The purpose of the SAT test is to measure a high school student's readiness for college.
South Mecklenburg High School serves as an SAT test site. All testing takes place in F Building. Use the entrance designated for construction deliveries - it is right next to our 2 painted Spirit Rocks. Park in the lot next to the 3-story buildings. There will be signs directing you to the check in location. Please have all required documentation ready to show when you enter the site. SMHS will not be providing computers!
The SAT is an online test. SMHS will NOT be providing a testing device! You will need to bring your own. Or you can request a device at the time you register to take the test. The College Board will ship a testing device to to SMHS for you to use on the test day. Your device must be able to connect to the CMS Guest Wi-Fi. SMHS is not responsible if your device will not connect. Our SAT staff will try to troubleshoot and assist you, but you will be ultimately asked to leave and contact the College Board if you experience technical issues. *NOTE - private/charter school computers often have a firewall installed that will prevent the devices from connecting to the CMS Guest Wi-Fi.
