We talked about following all the rules that the College Board has in place for AP exams. If you are taking a paper test, your signature on the answer sheet constitutes your agreement to these policies. If you are submitting digital portfolios, your submission constitutes your agreement to these policies. Please use the following links to familiarize yourself with the policies.
Students must agree to the AP Exam Terms and Conditions prior to taking each exam. For AP courses with a portfolio submission, students must agree to the Digital Portfolio AP Exam Terms and Conditions (.pdf/224 KB) before submitting their work as final in the AP Digital Portfolio.
Exam violations will result in a score cancellation and possible additional consequences. Remember that the College Board owns the AP exams and we MUST follow their rules. They will not accept the "I didn't know" excuse for a violation of their policy.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
4/19/2024 - Starting April 10, when you sign into your College Board account, you will see a pop-up window prompting you to choose a college, university, or scholarship organization to receive your AP scores for free.
Seniors will have to make a selection in order to access AP Classroom and their course resources and assignments. Do NOT be afraid to send your scores. Colleges do not use AP scores as part of their admission process!
Underclassmen - you can wait until you are a senior to do this or you can start sending scores this year.
As a reminder, you get one free score send each year you take an AP Exam. Your score report will include AP scores from this year and any previous years. Colleges and universities use official score reports to determine credit or placement, if applicable. Colleges, universities, and scholarship programs that receive scores may also use a student’s information and official score report to contact them with details about admissions, educational, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities. Students have until June 20, 2024, to change their free score send selection.
The official score report will be sent in July, and it will include scores for the AP Exams that you take this year as well as any past AP Exam scores.

3/24/2024 AP Information March 2024-20240325_115412-Meeting Recording
Miller, Elaine L. started transcription
Hello everybody.
I'm Miss Miller and I am sending another video out to give you some updates about your AP exams.
I know I sent a video out at the beginning of the school year with some information.
And with spring break quickly approaching.
Yay, I wanted to send out some reminders and make some new announcements.
So first of all, I need to remind all of you that you're AP exam is required.
You signed a contract, you and your parents signed a contract about this time last school year when you were selecting classes and registering you and your parents signed a contract with CMS and S Meck, indicating that you would abide by the district policy for AP exams and the district policy mandates that this test is required.
You do not have an option to take the test.
That being said, that it AP exams are from May 6th through the 17th, those are on school days.
You have been getting that information from your teachers.
They have been telling you since the fall exactly when your AP test was going to be the specific date and whether it was a morning or an afternoon test session.
Again, these tests are required if for some reason you do not take the AP test in May.
With me, there is a financial obligation ranging from 40 to $100 or so, depending on why you missed the test and which tests you do miss.
I want to remind you that these AP classes, these are college level classes and you are potentially able to earn college credits or be able to skip classes once you get to college, which will save you a tremendous amount of money.
So in in instead of really earning a college credit, you are allowed to skip certain classes.
That being said, I also want to remind those of you who have an educational plan, like an IEP or a 504, that because these tests are owned by College Board, College Board does not have to follow 504 and IEP plans, when I sent out a video in the fall, I did announce that we had to request permission from College Board if you wanted to be able to have extra time or any other type of accommodation on the AP exams in May, the deadline to have done this was the end of January.
If for some reason you forgot all about that and you are now starting to get a little nervous that you have a plan, you have 504 and I P plan and you need extra time.
You need to come and see me immediately.
So we can request that you be allowed to use those accommodations on your AP exams in May.
Again, College Board is not automatically going to give you those accommodations.
That was something I addressed back in.
September and something that you are AP teachers have been addressing with you all year long can.
I do want to make sure that y'all understand that you must have a photo ID for the tests.
It is going to be taken on a school day and it is going to be here on campus, but there's almost 1500 of y'all taking AP test and because of that, we have to identify your we have to verify your identity to College Board.
We have to make sure that you or you taking your test and not your maybe smarter cousin so you are required to have a photo ID to show us as you are coming into the test rooms.
Your photo ID could be your learner's permit, your driver's license, your passport.
It could be your gym card as long as it has your picture and your name on it.
Umm, I do know that CMS no longer makes ID cards and for that reason I am.
Doing identification forms and what that means is if you do not have a photo ID, you will be allowed to take a selfie and you will need to print that out in color.
No smaller than a 5 x 7.
Then you will bring that printed out color selfie to my office for me to verify your identity, and then I'll sign it and date it and stamp it.
And that's how we'll get around not having photo ID's.
So again, you must have a photo ID.
You must have a photo ID if you do not have a photo ID, please take a selfie.
No smaller than 5 x 7.
Print it out in color - bring it to me and we'll be fine.
I just will have to sign it before your test day.
This is one of college board's rules because we have to verify your identity just like we would on a Saturday test.
As far as your specific test rooms and specific rules, what can you bring? What can you not bring? What happens if you have two tests in one day which you know?
Sometimes that happens when our college.
So if you have two tests in one day, that's unfortunate, you'll have a break between the two tests.
We will be having student information meetings after spring break and I'm sending this to your teacher so they can post on their site. This was also in the school newsletter over the weekend for Mr. Angerer. From April 15th-19th, we will be having AP information sessions after school from 2:30 to 3:15 in F building cafeteria. At that time you will be getting your AP admission cards, which you will have to have to get in.
You'll be getting a handout that will go over all of the information, including arrival times, transportation questions.
If you drive, if you're a car rider, if you ride the school bus.
Specific rooms.
What can you bring this electronics policy, These meetings are required.
You only have to come to one meeting.
And those dates again are April 15th -19th after school from 2:30 to 3:15 in the F Building cafeteria.
We will be giving you information specifically related to your AP exams.
Again, your AP exams are required.
You have to take them and there's it's not optional.
I'm also going to have a parent meeting, especially if this is the first time you have ever taken an AP class or you've never taken an AP test. If your parents have lots of questions, we'll be holding a parent information session on the evening of April 23rd at 6:00 o'clock in the auditorium where your parents can come and they can receive the same information that I'll be giving you as students.
And your parents can ask questions if if they have any concerns.
And as always, students, you are more than welcome to come by my room.
A 107.
It's down the hall from the main office.
I'm right across from Mr. Angerer's office.
If you have any questions or concerns, or you're anxious about something, please come into my office.
So we can talk through it.
Or send me an email.
Your teachers will be able to give you my email information.
It's also on the South Meck High School testing page as well as the South Meck.
This was very quick, I I think finally the last thing I want to tell you.
Well, there's two more things actually.
I want to let you know that that there's no makeup testing for this.
I know that prom is right around then.
It it's far enough in advance, please make sure you are not scheduling doctor's appointments, dental appointments, prom appointments on days when you are taking an AP test.
That is not a reason to get to do a late test.
There's no what we think of as a "makeup test" for an AP test, and then finally I do want to encourage you to again reach out to your teachers and to me, if you have any questions. These tests are written by college officials, college professors, your teachers have been following the specific curriculum that set up for these tests.
You shouldn't be have any problem with the tasks your teachers have been preparing you for these tests all year.
I just wanted to spend a few minutes with you, making sure you knew that they are required and if you need an accommodation that you haven't already been approved for, you need to come see me immediately.
Please make sure that you put down those AP meetings on your calendars if you are an athlete.
I've already spoken to the athletic director.
He knows that you will be letting your coaches know you'll be late to at least one practice if you have a job after school or early release and are not able to make it back for a meeting, just send me an email and we'll figure something out.
I think that's everything I wanted to cover with you.
Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to swing by a 107 so that we can talk about it.
I hope everybody has a great and safe spring break and I will see y'all afterwards in April in the cafeteria.
Alright, have a great holiday!

If you are unable to take the College Board AP test, you will be required to take a written exam at the end of 2nd Semester that will go on your report card/transcript and impact your GPA.
Depending on your score on the College Board AP test, you can exempt some classes in college. You are essentially taking a college class in high school. The score on the College Board AP exam indicates your mastery of the content. Contact the Admission Offices of your intended college(s) to research their Advanced Placement policy.
