College Board is a private testing company that owns the SAT, PSAT, and AP exams. They must grant permission for a student to use accommodations on their tests. Please see your student's counselor or case manager for the paperwork to initiate the accommodation request process. Once your student is approved by College Board, they will receive their accommodations on all College Board tests during high school.
ACT is a private testing company that owns the PreACT, ACT, and WorkKeys. Students taking the PreACT or WorkKeys will receive accommodations that are listed in their 504, IEP, or EL plan. However, ACT must grant permission for a student to use accommodations on the 11th grade ACT. Please see your student's counselor or case manager for the paperwork to initiate the accommodation request process. Eleventh graders will take the ACT for free - those accommodations will be requested by Ms. Miller - be on the look out for a form to sign in November of their Junior year.
If you have any questions about testing accommodations, please contact our Testing Coordinator, Elaine Miller at 980-343-3600 or elaine.miller@cms.k12.nc.us
