NEW OR RETURNING TO CMS SCHOOLS?

Our goal is to help guide all interested families through the application and audition process. Residency in Mecklenburg County is a non-negotiable requirement for attending NWSA, or any CMS school. Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools requires that auditions be scheduled for CURRENT residents of Mecklenburg County only.  If your child is not currently attending a CMS school, enrollment in CMS ("future enrollment") is required by CMS deadlines to participate in the CMS Lottery. This is needed even if your child previously attended a CMS School. If you are a current resident of Mecklenburg County, you will receive another email shortly to schedule the audition. If you are not a current resident of Mecklenburg County, after completing and submitting the future enrollment, please email nwsa.auditions@cms.k12.nc.us to provide the confirmation of enrollment to schedule the audition. (Unfortunately we are not allowed to schedule the audition if the family does not live in Mecklenburg County). 


***REMINDER: If your child is new or returning to CMS (Charter, Private, homeschool, out of state, etc….) they will not have an active CMS ID number, so you must future-enroll the student in CMS Schools for the 2024-25 school year. 


Future enrollment will begin on September 12, 2023. New CMS families must enroll no later than November 13, 2023, in order to participate in the lottery. Use the link below to access the enrollment process.
