JUST LEARNING ABOUT AUDITIONS?
Here are important dates:

All Majors
Submit an Audition Request Form as soon as your child decides to audition. Audition requests are scheduled in order received. It is best to audition during the lottery period in order to have the best chance of being placed at the school. There is no advantage of one audition date over the another, as long as they are in the SAME lottery period. There will only be one lottery period this year.
IMPORTANT: Band, Orchestra, Piano, Chorus, Dance, Musical Theatre, Theatre, Technical Theatre, Costume Design, and Visual Arts are ALL IN-PERSON auditions and need to be scheduled in advance.
***Visual Arts-The Visual Arts audition process is made up of 2 components: a digital portfolio review by the teachers AND an In-person audition. Digital portfolio deadlines are the same day as the in person audition. See audition requirements for more information.
Wednesday, October 18 (CMS Early Release Day)
Auditions 1:00pm-4:00pm Audition Requests due no later than Oct. 13
In Person Auditions for the following majors:
Band Orchestra Piano
Chorus Dance Musical Theatre
Theatre Technical Theatre Costume Design
Visual Arts
Submit the digital portfolio on or before this date by 5pm.
Students who pass auditions and portfolio reviews in October through December will be eligible to participate in the School Options Lottery. We will continue to audition after the lottery to fill remaining spots at the school.
Wednesday, November 8
Auditions 3:00pm-6:00pm Audition Requests due no later than Nov. 3
In Person Auditions for the following majors:
Band Orchestra Piano
Chorus Dance Musical Theatre
Theatre Technical Theatre Costume Design
Visual Arts

(NO DANCE OR TECHNICAL THEATRE AUDITION)
