Intermediate Visual Arts
Prerequisite: Complete K-8 education in Visual Arts or demonstrated mastery in Beginning Art
Your enrollment in ART 2 tells me that you want to further your artistic endeavors, explore more in depth media and learn about more artists. It also lets me know that you want to express yourself in more ways than in Art 1. I am so excited that you chose ART 2 and I feel certain that you will express yourself in so many ways that you may have not thought of! Get ready! ☺
North Carolina Essential Standards:
Intermediate High School Visual Arts standards are designed for those students who have had a complete K-8 progression in Visual Arts education or who have achieved beginning level high school standards for Visual Arts.
Standards
-Use the language of visual arts to communicate effectively.
-Apply creative and critical thinking skills to artistic expression.
-Create art using a variety of tools, media, and processes, safely and appropriately.
-Understand the global, historical, societal, and cultural contexts of the visual arts.
-Understand the interdisciplinary connections and life applications of the visual arts.
-Use critical analysis to generate responses to a variety of prompts.
