Students will learn all of these advanced musical skills!
Recognize, understand, and describe the basic materials and processes of music. They will develop skills by listening to, reading, writing, and performing a wide variety of music.
Identify features of pitch, interval, scales and keys, chords, meter, rhythm, and other musical concepts in performed and notated music.
Sight-sing a notated melody.
Notate music by ear
Students need to be able to read and write musical notation.
Prerequisite: strong music background in Band, Orchestra, or Choir.
Students learn to critically analyze works of art within diverse historical and cultural contexts, considering issues such as politics, religion, patronage, gender, and ethnicity; explore architecture, sculpture, painting and other media from a variety of cultures; articulate visual and art historical concepts in verbal and written form; investigates and evaluate works of art through observation, discussion, reading and research.
Students must possess a high degree of skill in reading, writing, speaking and listening to meet college standards.
Prerequisite: None. This course is partially aligned with AP World History
Art and Design
There are 3 different AP Art and Design courses ( Drawing, 2-D and 3-D). The course follows the outline as provided by the Advance Placement Program.
Students will develop an advance technique and conceptual portfolio which contains selected works, range of approaches, and sustained investigation.
Prerequisite: Demonstrated mastery in Proficient in Visual Arts and Teacher Recommendation
