Weighting for Advanced Placement Courses and Dual Enrollment
Five percentage points will be added to nine weeks and semester exam grades (60 or above) in AP courses which follow the national AP guidelines, extend the state mandated curriculum with rigor, and meet five of the nine state recommended components for honors classes. Students that fail to meet the class requirement of completing the AP exam will have the additional points removed as set forth by state requirements, and must complete a teacher created exam that will count as 20% of the 2nd semester grade. Five percentage points will be added to nine weeks grades (60 or above) in DE courses.
Weighting for Honors Courses
Three percentage points will be added to nine weeks and semester exam grades (60 or above) in honors courses that extend the state-mandated curriculum with rigor and meet five of the nine state recommended components of honors classes.
Weighting for State and Local Dual Credit Courses and Industry Certification
Four percentage points will be added to nine weeks and semester exam grades (60 or above) in Post Secondary State Sponsored Dual Credit in which the student takes the State Dual Credit Challenge Exam after the students have taken the exam. Students who earn a 60 or higher in a capstone industry aligned course and sit for the capstone industry certification-aligned culminating exam with receive 4 additional percentage points. Once the students have taken the exam, 4 additional percentage points will be added to the nine weeks and exam grades.
