9th Grade Information

Welcome to High School!

Ninth grade is an exciting transition year as students begin their high school journey. While all freshmen take their core academic classes together, they also have opportunities to explore electives alongside upperclassmen. The elective options for 9th graders are more limited than the full course catalog, but they provide a strong foundation and allow students to start discovering their interests. The courses below are available to freshmen as they begin shaping their path through high school.

IGP and Course Selection Timeline for Rising 9th Graders

January 2026

Academic Opportunity Night

- January 14, 2026
- CSD Auditorium at 6:00 - 8:00 PM
- For current 8th and 9th grade students
- Details will be sent out via email. Come join us!

IGP Conferences Begin for 8th Grade Students

Start the week of January 26, 2026 and continue until the first week of March
Follow the instructions on your middle school campus for appointment dates, times, and locations

March 2026

Course Request Verification Week

March 23-27, 2026
NO UPDATES to course requests will be made after March 27, 2026
Your schedule will be based on your final requests with very limited exceptions for changes

July 2026

Registration week

Registration Week is held on the high school campus. Students and families will come in person to show proof of residency, order yearbooks and other items, and receive your schedules!

Your schedule is for the entire school year. No schedule changes are made at this time unless a student must retake a course to meet graduation requirements.
