EAL701C

This intermediate-level course will be offered to students who already speak at least one other language, or who come from a home in which another language is used. This course will support students’ further Senior High Program of Studies and List of Authorized Materials 2023-2024 Page 49 development and progression of English language proficiency, which is required for success in school and in the community. It will be highly recommended to students whose English language proficiency level in listening, speaking, reading, and writing is assessed at the intermediate level, or for those who have successfully completed EAL701A and EAL701B. This course provides students with ample opportunities to listen, speak, read, and write in English. The emphasis of this course is on the four interrelated strands: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

It is recommended that students who successfully complete EAL701C will then take EAL701D to further progress in their English language proficiency.
