CAR701X

CAR701X is an excellent introductory level course that provides experience with various media in crafts. Students will learn crafts in the basic areas of weaving (textile and baskets), fiber arts, basic jewelry making, mosaics, and clay. As well as learning hands-on technical skills, students will learn a bit about the history of each craft, how to apply the elements and principles of design when creating each craft, and explore career opportunities in this field as it pertains to Island culture. There will be a final major assessment using one of the techniques learned throughout the course. Although many course materials can be collected, there will be a fee of $20 to help cover costs. No prerequisite is required.
