Hello everyone,
It's hard to believe that we are in the middle of October already! I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving weekend. The days are getting a bit cooler please make sure to pack a sweater or jacket for our recess times. Please send along a complete change of clothes as well including extra socks. With the cool weather also comes wet grass/equipment at first recess so it's good to be prepared.
Literacy- We are moving along in our Fundations program. This week we learn about the letters /c/ and /o/. These letters start at the plane line and curve around. This week we will work on recognizing the trick word "like". We will begin our study of pumpkins. In writing, we are continuing to focus on using shapes to draw objects. We will talk about using characters and identifying a setting for our stories.
Numeracy- This week we will introduce the number 4.
Dates to remember
October 19th- Pre-Service teacher Lia DaSliva will be starting her practicum with us.
October 30th- Halloween at School. Students are welcome to dress up.
November 5/6- Convention
November 11- Remembrance Day
November 16- Report Card Day (no classes)
