Thank you for visiting during our Open House last Monday. The kids were so excited to share their hard work with you all. Our next Open House is already being planned and will be held in our classroom in the new school in early April. The second Open House will focus on Heritage Fair projects. Students will be working independently this time around, and will be presenting a piece of their family history to their classmates and families. I strongly encourage each parent to start the discussion about what their child could present about their family history, traditions, an interesting story, culture. For more information on projects, please check out this website https://www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/information/fisheries-tourism-sport-and-culture/provincial-heritage-fair
I'm excited to share that I will be mentoring a pre-service teacher, Sarah Warden. Mme Sarah will be with us from February 10th until May 1st. During this time, Mme Sarah will be putting into practice what she has learned. We will be working together to plan, assess and evaluate. Welcome Mme Sarah to our classroom.
Writing - Persuasive texts
Reading - Independent reading of books in both languages. Students will be creating a short video on their favourite French book. Students are reading and writing summaries in a NETFLIX style. I am completing formal reading assessments in English and French.
Math - We are still working on estimating and rounding of decimal numbers.
Integrated Curriculum - We are working on States of Matter. STEAM PEI will be visiting us this week for a presentation on Wednesday.
