Important Dates:

• April 24th : Afternoon of board games  in support of Easter Seals.  Please send in a favourite game to play and a donation for Easter Seals.

• April 30th : Picnic in the Park.  We're heading to Centennial Park to celebrate another WOW board filled.

• May 1st : No school for students.

• May 13th : Wizard of Oz at the Confed Center (5$)

• May 29th : Arbor Day Celebrations (Victoria Park, 2$)

• June 18th : Shining Waters (23$)

French: We are working on persuasive texts in writing.  Students have planned and written three rough drafts. They will now choose one of them and work through the steps of revising, editing, and publishing. In reading, we have been reading short articles about energy to align with our Integrated Curriculum.

English: We are reading through mystery books in book club. Students are also writing a mystery story. Students are learning to the point of view and then apply it to their own writing.  Students are also revisiting thinking about word choice and beginning to find their own style.

Integrated Curriculum: Students are working through learning about where energy comes from, what sources of natural resources do we have in the Atlantic Provinces. We will wrap up this unit with a final project showcasing their learning as they identify a situation where energy is overused or wasted and come up with an idea to conserve energy.

Math: We have started our measurement unit.  This week we will focus on reviewing area and perimeter.
