8th Grade

Vocal Music

Course description

Eighth Grade Vocal Music is an elective class offered to 8th graders. This course is structured more like a standard choral rehearsal class in order to better prepare students for high school singing. Students can expect to sing a variety of different music with their peers in large groups, small groups, and solo settings. 8th Grade Vocal Music includes at least one required concert each semester.

Daily class will involve singing, moving around, improvising, reading, and listening to music, building community, and having lots of fun!

course Goals

Our curriculum at Moore is built to help students meet both the national music standards of create, perform, respond, & connect, as well as the goals of the LPS Music Department. Our mission in 8th Grade Vocal Music at Moore is to provide students a place to practice excellent and enthusiastic musicianship, to prepare them for any higher-level music class they may take, to foster their creativity, and to provide them a lifelong appreciation of music.
