All-City Girls Chorus
LPS ALl-City Girls Chorus
The Lincoln Public Schools All-City Girls Chorus is an auditioned group of singers in grades 6-8. This elite group of middle school women sings a diverse array of challenging, age-appropriate repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary choral to musical theatre. Throughout the course of the year, students are also provided various solo and small group singing opportunities.
The All-City Girls Chorus rehearses weekly on Tuesdays during the regular school year, performing at least two annual concerts in addition to a tour of LPS Elementary Schools in early May.
Students are expected to practice music on their own, as well as attend weekly ensemble rehearsals. This ensures that rehearsals may be run efficiently, allowing us to polish and prepare as much music as possible.
The LPS All-City Girls Chorus is committed to providing a meaningful musical experience for young women from across Lincoln Public Schools. Our mission is to pursue excellence in choral music making and to develop our young singers both as musicians and people. We believe there is great value in creating a welcoming space for young women to improve their voice and to connect with peers who love to sing. We work hard, and we have lots of fun!
AUDITIONS
We will plan to hold our second round of auditions for the 2023-2024 school year on Tuesday, May 16 and Tuesday August 23 at 6:00pm at Lincoln Southeast High School. Please enter on the north side (Van Dorn Street side) of the building.
Any female LPS student going into grades 6-8 is welcome to audition. For auditions, students will be asked to sing the first verse of "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" as well as a short sight-singing example.
If you have any further questions regarding auditions, contact Hannah Lambert.

Join Google Classroom!
Students participating in the LPS All-City Girls Chorus should be sure to join our Google Classroom so that they have access to part assignments, rehearsal recordings, the practice points form, and important announcements throughout the year.
If your student does not know the class code, contact Hannah Lambert in order to get it.
PRACTICE POINTS
As our group only meets once week, we have a very limited amount of rehearsals together before performances. If students come to rehearsals already knowing the majority of the words, notes, and rhythms, it allows us to spend rehearsal time teaching excellent vocal technique and perfecting the music, rather than simply teaching parts. It is IMPERATIVE that students are practicing on their own time; the success of our group depends on it.
Students can find practice recordings of their part and the Weekly Practice Record (Google Form) on the ACGC Google Classroom.
