This course is designed to provide students the opportunities to explore digital sound technology, notation software and multimedia applications. Music Technology fosters a learning environment which includes musical exploration, creativity, sharing and appreciation, while building on personal attributes including positive relationships, time management, and accountability.
Course Objectives: Create, Perform, and Respond to music using multimedia sources.
Explore the creative process of music composition, performance and improvisation.
Form a basic understanding of music theory and aural skills related to music and technology.
Explore, categorize and respond to multiple genres of music.
Explore music and video production in film and gaming.
Understand and respond to musical context and rationalize context of self created music.
Explore professional markets available through Music Technology.
