Hello :) My name is Heather Williams-Owen (she/her), and I am a rising junior at the University of Scranton, Pa. I am an honors biology major with a minor in counseling and human services. This summer, I explored my passion for environmental pollution remedies through the detection of PFAS. However, my academic interests include cell signaling, neurobiology, and the interactions of first-generation students with STEM fields. When I'm not in the lab, you can find me on the rugby pitch, as I'm the Vice President of the Women’s Rugby Club. If I'm not with my rugby family, I spend my time reading, working as a barista, tutoring, or caring for my plant friends!
