Hi! My name is Helen Citino, and I am a rising junior at Rice University in Houston, TX studying religion and ecology! In my academic career, I aim to merge my studies in religion with my studies in ecology. In my religion classes, I am interested in understanding the foundational principles on which a community thinks and how these understandings drive certain actions. Specifically, I want to study how communities understand their places in the natural world and relationship with the ecological systems around them. When paired with scientific research regarding anthropogenic affects on animal populations, I can better understand the full picture of how both communities work to change each other. In my free time, you can find me reading outside, planning events for the Rice Women's Resource Center, or watching silly shows with my roommate!
