Autism

A diagnosis of autism is made by a team of appropriately qualified professionals such as the Vancouver Island Autism Assessment Network (VICAN) or a pediatrician, psychiatrist or registered psychologist. At school, we will work with your child, family, and other professionals to co-develop a strengths-based approach to learning. We have access to consultants including a Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational therapist, Physical therapist, Counsellor, Behaviour Consultant, and provincial outreach program (POPARD), who can help by expanding our team and the "menu of support options" when required.

There are many brilliant and creative people who have had amazing impacts on the world who identify as having autism. Autism looks different in every person with the condition, and each person with autism has their own unique strengths and abilities.
