The activities, sports, and service opportunities I engaged with during grade 11 have continued to grade 12.
ARK, the Humane Society, and CIS's soccer team are all community service organizations/opportunities that I am still an active member of. For ARK, I go to the hub each Thursday and continue to interact with the school children- thus far, I have enjoyed rekindling the relationships I formed in grade 11 while meeting the new kids within the program. We are planning the ARK Carnival during club meetings, which I have participated in since grade 10. Currently, I am signed up to run one of the carnival games.
I continue volunteering on the weekends with the Humane Society, helping out in the cat area by giving the cats attention and a clean living space. Moreover, my CAS Project is a partnership with this organization, which is something I am currently in the process of planning and finalizing.
In addition, this is my last year on my school's soccer team. I take on leadership by being one of the few seniors, leading the younger girls in warmups, offering encouragement, and always helping with tasks assigned by my coaches. In April, CIS will participate in the CISA Tournament in the Dominican Republic, a trip I plan to attend. Moreover, I will be attending the Soccer FEVA Tournament in Jamaica again.
So far this year in NHS, I have been involved in the co-leadership of multiple events our branch would like to host. Some upcoming ones include Halloween Candy and Dessert Grams, a Christmas Movie Special, and tutoring for underclassmen. For instance, with the Candy Grams, my group and I will bake holiday-themed treats that students can buy to gift to their friends. This has been a successful fundraiser in the past.
I am still a dive club member, and I use my two scuba diving certifications to explore new sites with my friends, classmates, and other people within the Cayman diving community. Additionally, I have begun to play pickleball and learn how to surf in my free time, increasing my physical activity and engaging with various people I wouldn't have met in school or on a day-to-day basis.
