At Churchfield EYFS we are introducing an app called 'ClassDojo' to help us share all the wonderful learning the children do at school with their parents and carers . Each child has their own private 'ClassDojo' account which is linked to their parents email. When parents and carers log on, they are able to see photos and videos of their children at school. Parents and carers are then able to post photos and videos of activities and special events they do at home, to share with the teachers. We also use 'ClassDojo' as another way to communicate home learning to our parents.

This app has a translate function available so that all parents are able to read and respond to messages from the teachers regardless of their home language.

'ClassDojo' is used to capture 'Wow' moments in school and for parents to share 'Wow' moment from out of school. We love seeing what children get up to at weekends and school holidays! Any photos or videos shared with us are used to help us both with our assessment of the children's progress and learning, and to help us plan an engaging curriculum which takes into account the children's individual interests.

Rather than taking lots of photos and spending time behind an iPad, we believe that our time is better spent interacting with the children and actively participating in the moment with them. We take photos and videos of the children's learning when 'Wow' moments happen but do not take multiple photos each week.
