On the 5th of September, 2024, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) celebrated Teachers' Day with enthusiasm across its campus. The Student Council, in collaboration with the Student Welfare Office (SWO), played a key role in organizing the event to honor the university’s dedicated faculty members.
The central event took place in the university quadrangle, where the ceremony began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, accompanied by an invocation hymn. Esteemed guests, including the Campus Director Dr. Fr. Benny Thomas, Assistant Director Dr. Fr. Biju K.C., and Campus Dean Dr. Joby Thomas, graced the occasion.
In addition, various activities like skits, musical performances, interactive games, and memory-sharing sessions were conducted across different schools and departments. These events fostered a spirit of fun and appreciation as students and faculty engaged in games and cultural performances. Tokens of appreciation, including eco-friendly gifts, were presented to the faculty, in alignment with the university’s commitment to sustainability.
Refreshments were provided, and faculty members participated in activities that allowed them to reflect on their journeys as educators. The celebrations concluded with heartfelt performances and a vote of thanks from the students, making the day a memorable one for all.
This collaborative effort between the Student Council and SWO ensured a successful and joyful Teachers' Day, celebrating the invaluable contributions of the university’s faculty.
The event commenced with a melodious song performance by the NCC set a positive tone for the day’s celebrations.
Various games were planned for the teachers, including a Tug of War and a Relay Race. In the Tug of War, teams of six were formed, comprising four men and two women. These teams competed in all the games, with both teachers and students participating in these fun activities, fostering a sense of camaraderie and enjoyment.
A highlight of the day was a vibrant flash mob initiated by the students. Following the energetic dance performance, the teachers were invited to join in, resulting in an impromptu jam session that was enjoyed by everyone present.
The celebration continued with a cake-cutting ceremony, where the Dean, along with other faculty members from various departments, cut the cake. Afterward, several interactive stalls were opened, featuring games designed specifically for the teachers to engage with.
Lunch was provided to all faculty members as part of the hospitality, ensuring they felt appreciated throughout the event.
As a token of appreciation, each faculty member received a gift bag. The bag included a personalized printed sketch of their face with a message on the back, a small potted plant, a postcard with a personalized poem, a bookmark, and a mug designed with specific inscriptions. This reusable mug was intended to reduce the use of paper cups on campus, in line with the university's commitment to a zero-waste policy.
The Teachers' Day celebration was a resounding success, filled with joy, gratitude, and shared memories, highlighting the institution's respect and admiration for its dedicated faculty members.
The event began with a welcome address by the Student Council emcees, followed by a melodious performance by the Choir Team from the Kengeri Campus, setting the tone for the day.
Dr. Sriram, Academic Coordinator of the BBA Department, delivered a heartfelt message honoring the teachers, followed by a Gratitude Message from the Student Council. This moving tribute ended with a standing ovation from the students.
Dr. Fr. Shijin, in his Presidential Address, shared his experiences and expressed his admiration for the faculty, leaving the audience deeply inspired.
The event featured captivating musical performances by the bands DHWANI and VISMRIT, along with solo performances by faculty members Dr. Shruti and Dr. Debora. The much-anticipated Investiture Ceremony welcomed new Student Council members, pledging their service to the university.
The celebration continued with dance performances by faculty members, followed by a mesmerizing performance by the Natyaarpana dance team and a final act by ‘Rowdra.’ The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Divya Sudaram and a High Tea for the faculty.
The day was a grand success, celebrating the invaluable contributions of teachers.
