Lavasa Retreat

The annual University Student Council retreat to the Pune Lavasa Campus of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) brought together student leaders from all Bangalore campuses for a day of camaraderie, team-building, and exploration. The retreat offered University Student Council representatives to reflect upon their year-long journey and make suggestions for future improvement. The retreat started with a fun ice-breaking session where council members from the Bangalore and Lavasa campuses were present. The council learned about team-building and got an opportunity to interact with each other. This was followed by a campus tour provided by the council members of the Pune Lavasa campus, showcasing the vibrant campus life of a residential campus.

The following days were filled with activities and interactive sessions that engaged council members. This included a brief introduction to the Lavasa campus followed by a faculty conclave on the second day. Faculty coordinators of The Student Council provided their reflections on the council members and their work throughout the academic year. The representatives also had a reflective session with Dr Johny Joseph, the Director of The Student Council. Dr Jibrael Jos continued the retreat with different sessions where the students were divided into mixed groups to build a good rapport with their co-USCs. The first day also included kayaking and boating activities for the USCs and the faculty members, concluded by a talk with Dr Fr Lijo Thomas, inspiring the students for their future endeavours.

The Lavasa council planned the following two days with fun activities along with learning sessions. This started with a refreshing morning walk across Lavasa City and a rejuvenating breakfast. The sessions with Dr Jos were continued throughout the day where the students learned about leadership, reflection, and how to look forward to their lives after the tenure for council is over. The council members reflected on ideas that they could suggest for future USC representatives. The final day included a trek where council members lushed through the natural environment of Lavasa. The retreat ended with a gratitude session where all students and faculty showed their gratitude towards the Lavasa Council, as well as each other. This was an overwhelming session for all, as it marked an end to their council journey, looking forward to the final days of events and responsibility.

All the days on the Lavasa campus were filled with lavish food, fun activities, and incredible hospitality by the Lavasa members. The Bangalore campuses went back with smiles of their faces and a vision to make council better as they take the learnings from the retreat and pass the baton to the upcoming batch of representatives.
