Curriculum Intent

At Christ's School, we aim to prepare our learners for their future by giving them the opportunities to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for an ever changing digital world. Making safe, creative and positive use of digital technology. Our Computing curriculum focuses on three main strands: digital literacy, computer science and information technology. These strands are revisited repeatedly through a range of themes during a student's time in school to ensure the learning is embedded and skills are successfully developed. Our intention is that Computing also supports the student’s cross curricular learning and future possible careers.

For detailed information on the curriculum please see this document - computer science program of study.

Our aim is also to make all software accessible via the internet/web browser so that specialist software is not required to be downloaded and installed at key stage 3. This has mainly been achieved accept for the Animation topic which uses Blender (although Blender is free and can be downloaded for Windows, Mac & Linux desktop - not Chromebooks)
