We are officially closed for Summer Break! Mr. Wheelock looks forward to seeing everyone back next school year!
Mr. Wheelock would like to wish all BCMS Choir Members and families a safe and happy Winter Break. I look forward to seeing everyone return on January 7th as we kick off our UIL and Contest Festival Season!
Make-up assignments for students who did not attend the Winter Choir Concert are due to Mr. Wheelock no later than end-of-school on Thursday. Make-Up assignments will not be accepted after this point. Hard copies of the instructions page (linked above) are availible in the choir room.
Reminder: Formal Choir Concerts count for TWO TEST GRADES.
All black choir dresses need to be returned to Mr. Wheelock prior to Winter Break. They do not need to be washed or cleaned by the students (Mr. Wheelock will take care of that). Dresses will be reassigned in the spring prior to UIL.
All Choir Students are required to pay a supply fee of $20 as part of their membership of the BCMS Choir Program. This modest fee helps to offset the cost incurred by the choir program for supplies and services for each student. This fee also covers the cost of the choir t-shirt.
This fee is tracked in your student's CutTime account, and can be paid in Cash or online at MyPaymentsPlus. (Please note that MyPaymentsPlus payments will not be available until the spring semester.)
If you have additional questions or concerns regarding the choir fee, please email Mr. Wheelock at christopher.wheelock@chisd.net
All 7th/8th grade choir students have been given music for All-Region auditions. These students are encouraged to practice these songs at home in preperation for the auditions in January. Additional resources for the auditions can be found on the choir website page: All-Region Resources
*Students are encouraged to practice their All-Region music a little bit every day. (10-15 min) each day will keep the music fresh in their memory and help them be ready to practice more when we return from break.
Exciting news - our Choir program is moving over to CutTime! Welcome to modern simplicity in managing your student’s participation in our program.

CutTime is a Game Changer for Our Program
Over the next year, we will see continuous new features, enhancements, and new services all hand crafted by a passionate team of former fine arts educators and booster leaders with incredible tech know-how. For more information on what this change means for you now and what is coming next visit their Welcome Parents-Guardians page here.
Thanks for all your support for our program! Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any other questions or feedback.
With our shift to CutTime, our previous calendar will no longer be used. All dates and events will be located on the CutTime calendar which can be accessed in your CutTime account. This calendar will show you only the specific events that are assigned to your singer. A public version of the calendar with all public events can be viewed on the choir website here.
Every week all choir students will be assigned a sight-reading assignment in their MakeMusic Cloud. This is a web application that is accessible via the student's Choir Schoology Page.
These assignments are being graded for effort, and not accuracy (so long as a student puts effort into the assignment, they will receive a 100 in the gradebook).
We have practiced using this system in class, so students should not have any confusion about how it works. This system works with their school issued chromebooks, as well as other computers with microphones. It may not work on cell phones or tablets.
