Preparations for our Winter Choir Concert are underway. Attendance by all choir students is required, and will account for a major percentage of their grade for this grading period*. Additionally, students will be required to sit with their choir for the entirety of the concert and will not be permitted to leave early.**
At the end of the concert we will be hosting a cookie and hot chocolate reception.

Location: First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill (128 N Roberts Rd, Cedar Hill, TX 75104)
Transportation to and from the concert is not provided.
Concert Start Time: 5:00 PM
Student Check-In Time: 4:00 PM - PLEASE DROP-OFF STUDENTS AT THIS TIME, AND THEN COME BACK AT 5 PM TO ENJOY OUR CONCERT

Girls:
Black Choir Dress (will be checked out to students the week of the concert)
Black Dress Shoes - Provided by Student (flats or heels, but must be comfortable for standing in a choir concert)
Boys:
Black Long Sleeved Button Down Shirt - Provided by Student
Black Dress Pants - Provided by Student
Black Dress Belt - Provided by Student
Black Dress Shoes - Provided by Student
Black Socks - Provided by Student
Red Choir Tie (will be handed out at the concert prior to the performance)
*This concert will count for 2 test grades. Students who miss the concert will be offered a make-up assignment project.
**Demonstrating correct auidence ettiquete for the entire concert counts as a test grade for choir students.
We still need people to sign up for our concert reception. As of this morning, we have only had 4 individuals sign up to bring items. Please click the button below so we can plan correctly.
After the concert, please stop by our reception and enjoy the fellowship as we celebrate our hard work this semester.
All female choir students should be recieving their choir dress this week in preperation for the choir concert. These dresses are property of the BCMS Choir Dept. and should be handled with care. After the winter concert, these dresses will be returned to Mr. Wheelock for proper cleaning and storage.
If a dress needs to be modified for length, they may be hemmed by a parent or tailor. When doing so, please do not cut any fabric from the dress, as this prevents the hem from being reversed if needed at a later date.

With our shift to CutTime, our previous calendar will no longer be used. All dates and events will be located on the CutTime calendar which can be accessed in your CutTime account. This calendar will show you only the specific events that are assigned to your singer. A public version of the calendar with all public events can be viewed on the choir website here.
Every week all choir students will be assigned a sight-reading assignment in their MakeMusic Cloud. This is a web application that is accessible via the student's Choir Schoology Page.
These assignments are being graded for effort, and not accuracy (so long as a student puts effort into the assignment, they will receive a 100 in the gradebook).
We have practiced using this system in class, so students should not have any confusion about how it works. This system works with their school issued chromebooks, as well as other computers with microphones. It may not work on cell phones or tablets.
